No to FGM. No to Violence. Yes to Women’s Safety.

As part of the comprehensive development project for Al-Masayeh village, Good News Organization held an awareness seminar regarding the harmful effects of female genital mutilation (FGM) and violence against women. The event was attended by Dr. Samia Al-Wazzan (Consultant Obstetrician-Gynecologist). 65 women from Al-Masayeh village in Naqada attended, Key topics addressed by Dr. Samia included: Addressing misconceptions: She clarified that FGM has no medical basis or benefit; on the contrary, it is a crime involving the cutting of perfectly healthy, intact tissue from a girl's body. Immediate harms: Severe bleeding, acute infections, and shock resulting from pain. Long-term harms: Permanent sexual and reproductive health issues, future childbirth complications, and lasting psychological effects such as fear and trauma. The doctor explained the various forms of violence against women, discussing different types—whether physical, psychological, or social. She emphasized that silence regarding violence only exacerbates the tragedy and highlighted that a woman's mental and physical well-being is the foundation of the entire family's health. At the end of the seminar, there was active engagement from the women present, with many questions raised about how to cope with societal and familial pressures. The doctor urged them to abandon the practice of female genital mutilation and to spread awareness among mothers and women in the community, ensuring the correct information is shared and the safety and health of girls are safeguarded. #Women'sHealthIsFamilyAndCommunityHealth#

Sharouna… Heroes Everywhere

Under the slogan "Every community has its heroes, and you are the heroes of our country"—and as part of the "Halwa Ya Baladi" (Beautiful Is My Country) project and the program to promote citizenship values and practices—Good News Organisation organized the "Hero from Our Country" celebration. Members of the "Ahl al-Balad" (People of the Country) Club honored a group of heroes from the village of Sharouna in the Maghagha district, aiming to reinforce the concept that each of us is a hero in our own role and place. The honors recognized heroes across various categories: heroes of duty, youth heroes, heroes of overcoming challenges, heroes of education, heroes of volunteering and civil society work, as well as a media hero and a citizenship hero. #Egypt'sGreatHeroes#

Abtoga… A New Step Toward Economic Empowerment

A vocational training unit has been established in the village of Abtouja. This initiative is part of the community-based activities of the "Helwa Ya Baladi" (Beautiful Is My Country) project, which operates under the program to promote citizenship values and practices. The unit will provide training to village residents in trades such as sewing, plumbing, and electrical work. The initiative aims to foster community engagement and drive economic empowerment activities for the residents of Abtouja. In this regard, the Good News Organisation extends its sincere thanks and appreciation to the Al-Mustafa Foundation in Abtouja and to the generous residents of the village who contributed to the project—most notably Mr. Ahmed Abdel-Latif, Head of the "Ahl Al-Balad" Club and the community committee for the "Helwa Ya Baladi" project in Abtouja. Children of Sharouna… Planting Citizenship, Building Unity

As part of the "Promoting Citizenship Values and Practices" project in the village of Sharouna. A visit to the local church was organized for both Christian and Muslim children. Various activities were carried out to foster acquaintance, cooperation, and teamwork, thereby reinforcing concepts of citizenship and patriotism. In addition, sports and recreational activities were organized. The activities saw active participation from both Muslims and Christians, taking place in an atmosphere of love, cooperation, and national unity. Our Children… Love for Country and Values

As part of the "Promoting Citizenship Values and Practices" project, several activities were conducted for children in the village of Abtouja. These activities aimed to instill patriotism, reinforce specific values, and build capacity: Activity 1: "Raise Your Flag" Day – Each child drew the Egyptian flag and wrote, "I love Egypt because..." Activity 2: Creating banners expressing love for the country. Activity 3: Singing the anthem "Egypt, Mother of the World." Activity 4: Tug-of-war game to foster cooperation among the children. Planting the Value of Cleanliness… Building a Healthy and Aware Generation

Children are the nation's future, and human, life, and health values constitute another vital aspect of that future. For this reason, Good News Organization is committed to investing in children in every possible way. Through building values and skills class children in Nazlat Saw—located in the Dayrut Center of Assiut Governorate—received training on the importance of hygiene. This initiative involved various activities and games, as well as the distribution of toothbrushes and toothpaste, providing the children with the opportunity to put what they had learned into practice. #OurChildrenOurFuture#
