The Good News Association for Educational and Research Services implemented an interactive street theater in the village of Al-Barsha in Minya Governorate, within Citizenship Week.
For her part, Manal Gawish, Director of the Project for Promoting Citizenship Values and Practices at the Good News Association, confirmed that the theater included performances, patriotic songs, and theatrical performances by the village’s Muslim and Christian children, with the aim of strengthening the concepts of citizenship among children, within the Love Week launched by the Governor of Minya, Major General Osama Al-Qadi. In cooperation with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and a number of development associations and institutions.
Jawish added that the performances were about the topics of acceptance of others and active citizenship, and a number of patriotic songs and a song for people of determination in sign language, amid great interaction from the children and participants. She continued: The number of participants from the village’s children was 100 children, in addition to 20 children who were the heroes of the performances, and a number of participants. 30 volunteers, and fruitful cooperation with the Misr Development Association in Al-Barsha village.
Jawish continued that choosing the interactive theater in the street, in the environment of the children themselves, taking into account that all these performances are presented by the children of the village, because children are the foundation of society and the future of the village, and work must be done to strengthen these concepts in them and give them a sound and balanced upbringing.
