Within the framework of the Your Knowledge Achieves Your Dreams project, which is implemented by the Good News Association, and funded by the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, in partnership with the Ministry of Social Solidarity and the Adult Education Authority, several meetings were held with the beneficiaries of the village of Bani Ahmed Al-Gharbiyya in the Minya Center in Minya Governorate. The coordinators of the literacy and adult education classes in the “Your Knowledge Achieves Your Dreams” project were also interviewed in the village of Beni Khaled in the Minya Governorate, and in the Beni Ahmed al-Gharbia in the Minya Center in the Minya Governorate, with a detailed explanation of the literacy project, responding to all the facilitators’ inquiries, and ensuring the grouping of beneficiaries and choosing the locations of the classes. It is worth noting that the “Your Knowledge Achieves Your Dreams” project aims to empower 2,000 women in Minya and Giza governorates, eradicate their illiteracy, create a number of economic projects, and build the capabilities of 1,000 of their children through values classes and discovering creative abilities. The “Your Knowledge Achieves Your Dreams” project comes within the “Solidarity Without Illiteracy” initiative launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, to take care of the beneficiaries of the Solidarity and Dignity Project, which was launched by the President of the Republic, Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, in March 2015, with the aim of providing a social protection umbrella for the most needy groups.

The organization said that citizens everywhere should avoid using paper currencies and use payment methods that do not require touching. The organization stated earlier that the Corona virus may remain on banknotes for several days, which may increase the chance of infection with the virus. The organization advised citizens to wash hands well after dealing in securities to avoid the virus. Earlier, the danger of coronavirus infection in China became apparent, after the Beijing authorities subjected banknotes to quarantine. The Central Bank of China announced a decision to clean banknotes in circulation by placing them in quarantine, with the aim of limiting the spread of the virus. In general, one must be careful while dealing with money, and wash hands constantly, or sterilize hands continuously using alcohol or sanitizing gel, especially for those who go out constantly and deal on the street or in retail stores, with the necessity of using gloves.

“The Good News” conducts field research to identify the challenges of education in Upper Egypt

Within the framework of examining the problems of the current situation of education in the villages of Upper Egypt, the Good News Association carried out field research over a period of three days, starting from Sunday, September 20, until Tuesday, September 22, 2020, to identify the challenges facing primary school students in the villages of East Nile (Bani Khalid). In this context, several meetings were held for 25 government officials representing schools, the educational administration, the Bani Khaled Village Council, the Social Solidarity Directorate, 15 young local leaders in the village, 50 parents, and 53 primary school students. During the various meetings, the actual problems facing the parties participating in the research were monitored, and ways to develop some solutions to basic needs were identified, which can be implemented in cooperation between the association and the concerned authorities within the limits of available capabilities.

Training of literacy facilitators within the “Your Education Achieves Your Dreams” project in Minya

The Good News Association for Educational and Research Services implemented basic training to prepare facilitators of literacy and adult education classes for the “Your Knowledge Achieves Your Dreams” project in Minya Governorate, funded by the Sawiris Foundation for Social Development, which aims to eradicate women’s illiteracy in solidarity and dignity. The training continued for 6 days, with 25 women in the Mallawi region, and 35 women in the Minya and Samalut regions. The training was conducted using a text pedagogical methodology, which is based on identifying educational lessons from the students themselves so that they can see society’s problems and participate in developing solutions.
