A question answered by the World Health Organization, in light of the rising numbers of infections and deaths from the Coronavirus around the world. The organization responded by warning that securities contaminated with the virus may transmit the infection and may contribute to the further spread of the virus in the world. The organization said that citizens everywhere should avoid using paper currencies and use payment methods that do not require touching. The organization stated earlier that the Corona virus may remain on banknotes for several days, which may increase the chance of infection with the virus. The organization advised citizens to wash hands well after dealing in securities to avoid the virus. Earlier, the danger of coronavirus infection in China became apparent, after the Beijing authorities subjected banknotes to quarantine. The Central Bank of China announced a decision to clean banknotes in circulation by placing them in quarantine, with the aim of limiting the spread of the virus.
